Will give a seminar entitled:
Compartmentalization of adhesive receptors to govern cell shape, cell and tissue dynamics
Dr Albiges-Rizo’s team investigates the mechanisms of cell adhesion and their central role in intercellular communication. Their research aims to understand how cells sense and translate biochemical and mechanical cues from their microenvironment to regulate migration, tissue architecture, and homeostasis. By combining cutting-edge approaches – live-cell imaging, optogenetics, biosensors, cell mechanics, and network biology – the group has mapped the spatiotemporal dynamics of adhesion sites and built an interactive signaling map. This work provides new insights into cell plasticity, collective behavior, and the emergence of pathologies.
