Amélie is a 2nd year PhD student in the team of Christian Braendle, working on the molecular basis of natural variation in RNA phase transition.

In her presentation, she gave an overview of activities that can complement the scientific work of a PhD, help enrich doctoral training, and personalize the PhD experience. These include student representation roles within the university, doctoral school, or research institutes, allowing PhD students to take part in institutional decision-making and help protect students’ rights. It also includes teaching opportunities and science communication initiatives, which help develop communication and outreach skills. Her presentation highlighted participation in committees, associations, and clubs open to PhD students, offering opportunities to build networks and contribute to student life.
