Lauryane is a 1st year PhD student in Marie-Christine Chaboissier’s lab, studying molecular mechanisms of sex determination in mammals, using mice as a model.

For her first presentation at the PhD club, she presented the mouse embryonic gonad ex vivo culture model she’s using. Using wild type mice gonads dissected just before sex differentiation, this model allows to study different aspects of the molecular mechanisms behind sex determination. In her presentation, Lauryane showed us how she handles this model and why using this model is complementary to her in vivo experiment.
