Bruno Hudry vient d’être nommé EMBO Young Investigator par la prestigieuse Organisation Européenne de Biologie Moléculaire (EMBO), qui compte parmi les meilleurs contributeurs européens en sciences de la vie. Une reconnaissance de l’excellence des travaux de son équipe et la promesse d’un grand avenir !
Les candidats éligibles à ce programme doivent avoir moins de quatre ans d’expérience dans des postes de recherche indépendants et d’excellents antécédents en matière de réalisations scientifiques. Seuls 13 % des prétendants ont accédé au programme EMBO Young Investigator en 2023, soit 26 scientifiques pour toute l’Europe, et Bruno est de ceux-là : il vient d’être reconnu par ses aînés comme un jeune talent qui constituera l’élite de la biologie moléculaire européenne dans les décennies à venir.
Grâce au programme EMBO Young Investigator, Bruno aura accès à un large éventail d’avantages, notamment une formation au management et aux pratiques de recherche responsables, un soutien aux membres de son laboratoire et un accès aux principaux équipements du Laboratoire européen de biologie moléculaire (EMBL), un plateau technologique parmi les meilleurs d’Europe.
“Mais le plus important pour moi”, soulève Bruno “seront les opportunités d’interactions avec les autres lauréats du programme. Dans le passé, j’ai été lauréat de trois bourses EMBO (“short-term”, “long-term” et “advanced”) et les interactions avec la communauté ont été extrêmement stimulantes. Je suis maintenant membre du jury pour les bourses EMBO short-term, qui permettent de visiter un autre laboratoire pour quelques mois, et j’encourage vivement les membres de l’iBV à y postuler ! ”
Une récompense que Bruno ne considère pas seulement personnelle, mais qu’il souhaite partager avec son équipe: “Un des critères les plus important est d’avoir une production en tant que dernier auteur, et le travail de tous les membres de l’équipe pendant ces dernières années a été l’élément essentiel qui a permis l’obtention de ce programme ! ”

Bruno Hudry has just been named EMBO Young Investigator by the prestigious European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO), which is among the best European contributors in life sciences. This represents a great recognition of the excellence of his work and the promise of a bright future!
Eligible candidates must have less than four years’ experience in independent research positions and an excellent track record of scientific achievements. The EMBO Young Investigator Program had a success rate of 13% in 2023, with only 26 young researchers added to the programme across all Europe, of which Bruno is part: he has just been recognized by his elders as a young talent who will constitute the elite of European molecular biology in the next decades.
Through the EMBO Young Investigator Programme, participants have access to a wide range of benefits, including networking opportunities, training in leadership skills and responsible research practices, support for lab members and access to core facilities at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), a technological platform among the best in Europe.
“But the most important for me”, says Bruno, “will be the networking opportunities with the other awardees of the programme. In the past, I received three EMBO fellowships (“short-term”, “long-term” and “advanced”), which brought extremely stimulating interactions with the community. I am now a jury member for the EMBO short-term fellowships, supporting short visits and transfer of expertise with another laboratory, and I strongly encourage iBV members to apply ! ”
A reward that Bruno not only considers personal, but that he wishes to share with all the members of his team: “One of the most important criteria for obtaining this program is to get last author productions, and the work of the entire team over the past few years has been crucial in this process ! ”
