Will give a seminar entitled:
The impact of sex on C. elegans behavioural decisions
Life is all about making choices. This applies as much to tiny worms as it does to humans. For C. elegans males, which need to find a mate to reproduce, sex needs and previous mating experiences have a profound impact on the way they process and respond to any other sensory information such as food and odours. From risky exploration to latent memories, the male’s nervous system displays high flexibility in behavioural output. I will present work from my lab on the molecular, cellular and neural circuit mechanisms that underpin such behavioural plasticity.
