SUMMARY:Marc THERRIEN
DESCRIPTION:From: Institute of Research in Immunology and Cancerology of Montreal \n  \nWill give a seminar entitled: \n  \nAllosteric control of RAF activation by dimerization \n  \nThe laboratory  of Marc Therrien is interested in gaining an in-depth understanding of the mechanisms that regulate RAS-MAPK signaling in order to fuel the development of innovative therapeutics. Although seemingly simple\, signaling through this pathway depends on a complex series of steps that are still poorly defined. A representative example is the activation of the kinase RAF induced by the small GTPase RAS. In addition to a direct contact between RAS and RAF\, the laboratory of Marc Therrien has contributed to show that the catalytic activation of RAF requires dimerization of its kinase domain. In this seminar\, he will present his most recent work on the assembly of protein complexes governing the formation and activation of specific RAF dimers. \n  \nSpeaker website
